We at Brainbox Consulting BV are seeking an experienced Test Lead Engineer who can also act as a functional manager for second-line support tickets. This role is ideal for someone who is not only technically strong but also highly customer-oriented and proactive in solving challenges.

You will be part of a dedicated team responsible for both manual and automated testing of releases. While you will conduct functional tests, a key focus of the role will be on automating tests using Python and pytest, thereby improving efficiency, consistency, and scalability across our testing processes.

In addition, you will play a pivotal role in handling second-line support tickets, acting as the bridge between users, support teams, and engineering, ensuring issues are addressed effectively and customer satisfaction remains high.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and conduct testing activities for regular software releases.

• Design, build, and maintain automated test suites using Python and pytest.

• Take ownership of second-line support tickets, ensuring proper follow-up, resolution, and communication with stakeholders.

• Identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency and streamline QA processes.

• Provide technical guidance and act as a mentor for other team members on testing best practices.

• Collaborate with development teams, product managers, and support staff to ensure high-quality deliverables.

• Contribute to the improvement of test frameworks and CI/CD integration.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in testing with strong expertise in Python and pytest.

• Proven experience in test automation frameworks and methodologies.

• Hands-on, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset.

• Strong customer orientation and communication skills.

• Ability to take initiative and drive efficiency improvements within the team.

• Experience in testbench environments is a strong plus.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to Have

• Prior experience in a Test Lead or Functional Manager role.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
