Purpose of the role

The OBM Platform Engineer is responsible for the design, management, automation, and continuous improvement of the OpenText Operations Bridge Manager (OBM) platform. This platform serves as a central link in the observability chain for alerting, event correlation, service health monitoring, and cross-platform integration.

The role requires in-depth OBM expertise as a core competency—experience that goes beyond generic monitoring management. The engineer ensures the OBM platform operates reliably 24/7, focusing on mission-critical IT and OT chains, and integrates seamlessly with other monitoring systems.

• OBM Platform Engineering & Operations

• Automation & Scripting
• Reliability Engineering & Incident Support
• Stakeholder Support & Platform Enablement

Technical Competencies

• OBM & ITOM (core competency – mandatory requirement)
• Integration with at least 3 external monitoring platforms, such as: Elastic Stack, SCOM, Oracle OEM, vROps, Prometheus, Grafana.
• Experience with connector technology: Operations Connectors, API calls, SNMP traps, script integrations.
• Automation & Scripting- Ansible (mandatory), scripting in Python & Groovy (mandatory).
• Basic knowledge of Go for API-based alerting/notification flows.
• CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment of monitoring configurations.
• Platform & Infrastructure Monitoring.
