Role Context

The organization follows defined standards and security requirements for cloud usage. As a Cloud Onboarding Specialist, you help teams move their workloads to approved cloud platforms by guiding them through required processes and controls. You coordinate the onboarding process, ensure standards are followed, and support teams with clear communication and steady progress.

Role Purpose

Enable the successful, compliant, and efficient onboarding of workloads to enterprise cloud platforms by guiding teams through established processes, governance frameworks, and required controls. Act as a central point of coordination to ensure cloud standards are understood, followed, and consistently applied, while providing transparency and a positive onboarding experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Guide workload teams through end-to-end cloud onboarding processes, explaining governance, policies, and required controls
• Ensure workloads follow approved onboarding paths, standards, and security guardrails
• Act as the primary point of contact for cloud onboarding-related activities and questions
• Coordinate with security, networking, platform, identity, and finance teams to support onboarding needs
• Track onboarding progress, maintain accurate workload information, and ensure visibility across the onboarding pipeline
• Identify and follow up on compliance gaps, supporting teams in meeting required standards
• Communicate updates, changes, and governance information to stakeholders
• Contribute to continuous improvements in onboarding processes, documentation, and tooling

Requirements

• Experience working in an enterprise IT or cloud environment
• Basic/intermediate Cloud knowledge
• Understanding of governance, risk, and compliance in cloud adoption
• Strong stakeholder management and coordination skills
• Ability to balance governance enforcement with customer experience
• Strong communicator
