Job Description
As Senior PMO Officer you are responsible for:
- Actively participating as trusted ‘advisor’ of the Product Development Manager and his cross sectoral Product Team
- Informing and guiding the PMO Project Officer about the status and progress of the Product and what they should focus on
- Challenging timings and dependencies of the deliverables with the Product Team and PMO organization
- Translating inputs from PMO Project Officer into actions at Product Team level
- Preparing and facilitating progress reviews and key decision meetings and actively follow-up on agreements made during these meetings
- Driving completeness of all inputs from deciders in the product generation process.
- Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- At least 8 years of working experience as project management officer or practical experience as a project manager in a complex, multi-disciplinary environment.
- Experience with implementation of change and improvement projects or ability to do so
- Experience in leading a team and individual people is a preference.
- Excellent communicator, being able to influence without hierarchical power, and creative in managing a large and diverse range of stakeholders

Job Description
PMO is positioned as an independent team member of a business team. As PMO Officer, you are responsible for:
- Challenging the triple constraint as a recognized business partner, to optimize business value
- Driving effective decision making on all levels
- Implementing and improving project (program) standards and processes, e.g. related to project planning, financial management, product generation process, reporting, change control, risk management and quality
- Providing guidance during the financial forecasting (budget) process and proactively assisting regular financial management and reporting

- Growing people and team competences of PMO and our Project Management community, e.g. by driving, participating, leading & implementing cross-PMO improvement projects.

Role and responsibilities
The Mendix Platform Team works on several strategic themes, such as creating awareness of the Mendix Platform amongst stakeholders, introducing new technological capabilities on the Mendix Platform, improving, standardizing, and automating processes related to development and deployment, building standard components and widgets, collecting data and providing valuable insights, mitigating risks, and offering support and guidance to Mendix developers all over the organization. The ultimate purpose of the Mendix Platform Team is to provide all that’s necessary to enable scalability, stability, knowledge, and tools to the Mendix Platform, so that Mendix developers can utilize it in delivering high-quality applications that support end-users in their day-to-day activities.
You will take on the responsibility to bring a variety of initiatives to a successful end. Often times, this entails identifying the root causes of problems, gathering information (interviews, data analyses, etc.), finding logical improvements, developing a suitable solution (such as a technical PoC or a non-technical process change), and generalizing the outcomes to best-practices and guidelines that others can use to improve the way they use Mendix. Examples of topics are the introduction of new Mendix features, automating common procedures/functionalities, such as Single Sign-On or authorizations, so that Mendix community can follow the platform standards set by your team.
Your main stakeholders are your colleagues in the Mendix Platform Team, the Mendix Platform Product Owner, System Architect, and Mendix developers/competence members and Product Owners as part of application teams across the whole organization. You enjoy working together, and can naturally take on a leading position to dissect complex topics into pieces and take them on one-by-one during discussions with stakeholders with backgrounds. You know how to influence without hierarchical authority and provide solutions that people are motivated to use. For some topics, it is useful to bring along an architectural mindset, so that the standards you define are sensible from a long-term perspective.
As part of your role, you will also be responsible for the Mendix life cycle management processes for the applications, widgets, modules, widgets, and documentation. You guide and instruct colleagues in the Mendix App Factory team about Mendix Platform capabilities.
Education:
- You’ve obtained a degree on a master's or bachelor’s level (preferably in Information Technology, Business IT, or similar).
- You’ve obtained your Mendix Advanced Certification at least two years ago, and are preferably certified at the Expert-level.
- You have a minimum of three years of experience in Mendix application development, having faced a fair share of complex challenges.
- You have experience with cloud environments (preferably Azure and AKS) and understand CI/CD concepts.
- You have sufficient knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Java/JavaScript to be able to built simple widgets/modules/scripts.
- You preferably have a fair understanding of UX-design
- You’ve got experience building integrations between Mendix and non-Mendix systems (e.g. using REST-API-ODATA, React Native, HIP).
- You’ve preferably been part of or collaborated with a Mendix Platform Team in the past, and can thus bring specific experience to the table.
- You show a pragmatic, hands-on attitude, when the situation calls for it, you speed up and get things done.
- You strike the balance between delivering high-quality and being quick-and-decisive.
- You have excellent analytical skills with which you are able to translate complex problems into step-by-step solutions.
- You have a demonstrated ability to perform in high-pressure environments.
