On this journey, we are looking for\u00a0<strong>DBA Engineer (Oracle &amp; Postgress)<\/strong> who is also interested to take on a wide range of activities.<\/p>\n<p>Job Purpose<\/p>\n<p>The Database Administrator is responsible for designing, managing, optimizing, and automating the enterprise database platforms that are essential for business-critical applications. The DBA provides Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) to application and platform teams, ensuring databases are secure, predictable, scalable, automated, and available 24\/7.<\/p>\n<p>The DBA possesses in-depth expertise in at least two of the three enterprise database technologies\u2014Oracle, MSSQL, and PostgreSQL\u2014to handle 24\/7 on-call duties and the operation of critical workloads.<\/p>\n<p>The role contributes directly to the reliability of process automation, monitoring platforms, market processes, and IT infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Core Tasks and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A. <strong>Database Engineering &amp; Operations:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Installing, configuring, and managing Oracle, MSSQL, and PostgreSQL database environments (mastery of at least two required).<\/li>\n<li>Executing upgrades, patches, migrations, schema management, and performance tuning.<\/li>\n<li>Implementing high-availability architectures (RAC, AlwaysOn, streaming replication, failover clusters).<\/li>\n<li>Managing backup and restore strategies with strict RPO\/RTO requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Troubleshooting complex database issues (locking, deadlocks, replication issues, performance degradation).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>B. <strong>Automation &amp; Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Automating provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management using Ansible, Terraform, and scripting (Python\/Bash\/PowerShell).<\/li>\n<li>Developing standardized database building blocks (&#8220;Golden Paths&#8221;) for developers.<\/li>\n<li>Setting up self-service provisioning via DTT platform components (including Backstage integration where relevant).<\/li>\n<li>Automating database monitoring, capacity management, and patching.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>C. <strong>Security, Compliance &amp; Governance- <\/strong>Implementing security-by-default<br \/>\nD. <strong>Cloud &amp; Hybrid DB Services<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Setting up cloud-based database services (Azure Managed Instances, PostgreSQL Flexible Server, SQL Managed Instance).<\/li>\n<li>Implementing hybrid data connections (on-prem \u2194 cloud), including network and security aspects.<\/li>\n<li>Advising on cloud migrations, data modernization, and containerized database test environments (Testcontainers).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>E. Observability &amp; Reliability<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Configuring and optimizing database monitoring (Prometheus exporters, Elastic ingest, Query insights).<\/li>\n<li>Setting up alerting, telemetry, query analytics, and capacity monitoring.<\/li>\n<li>Conducting Root Cause Analyses (RCAs), continuous improvement, and reliability engineering.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>F. Collaboration &amp; Enablement<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Collaborating with domain teams, developers, cloud engineers, and platform engineers.\\<\/li>\n<li>Advising on data modeling, query design, schema changes, and performance impact.<\/li>\n<li>Creating documentation, playbooks, best practices, and onboarding materials.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Technical Competencies<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Core Database Expertise (mandatory \u2013 min. two systems)<\/li>\n<li>Oracle Database<\/li>\n<li>Ansible (mandatory).<\/li>\n<li>Terraform (preferred).<\/li>\n<li>Python\/Bash\/PowerShell scripting.<\/li>\n<li>CI\/CD automation for DB deployments and migrations (Liquibase\/Flyway preferred).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Brainbox Consulting BV\u00a0aligning great talent with clients\u2019 needs is at the core of who we are.
